South Korea’s Kospi slipped 0.5 percent to 1996.67 on Jan. 11.
After the Bank of Korea (BOK) announced that it will freeze the key interest rate at 2.75 percent, Kospi moved downward.
The exchange rate fell 5.70 won to 1,054.70 won per dollar, the lowest since March 2011.
While Samsung Electronics and KEPCO gained 0.20 percent and 2.59 percent, respectively, Hyundai Motor and POSCO slipped 1.67 percent and 0.28 percent.
