Rhythmic gymnast Son Yeon-jae wins bronze medal at World Championships

South Korean rhythmic gymnast Son Yeon-jae won the bronze medal in hoop at the 2014 World Championships in Izmir, Turkey, Tuesday (local time).

She scored 17.966 points, becoming the first South Korean to win a medal at the World Championships.

The gold medal went to Yana Kudryavtseva of Russia who earned 18.816 points. Margarita Mamun also of Russia grabbed the silver medal with 18.450 points.

Son will compete in the 2014 Asian Games which are underway in Incheon, South Korea.
