Park Joo-ho, a South Korean football player currently playing for FSV Mainz 05 in the German Bundesliga, has delayed his return to the club because of an injury he sustained on his right ankle during a friendly between South Korea and Costa Rica in Seoul Tuesday, South Korea's football governing body said.

Park, a defender, delayed his departure for Germany until Oct. 17, according to the Korea Football Association (KFA).

He suffered an injury to his right ankle in the 16th minute of the soccer match held at Seoul World Cup Stadium, where Uli Stielike, a German football manager, made his head coaching debut for the South Korean men's national football team.

Costa Rica, which ranks 15th in the FIFA rankings, won 3-1. South Korea is ranked 63rd.
