The U.S Navy's Littoral Combat Ship (LCS) USS Fort Worth on Monday docked in Indonesia's capital seaport of TanjungPriok, and the arrival of the ship was the first of its kind in the country.

The ship with 100 crew members was welcomed by Indonesian Navy's Western Fleet Command Commander Rear Admiral Widodo, U.S. Ambassador to Indonesia Robert Blake and U.S. 7th Fleet Command Task Force 73 Commander Charlie Williams.

The visit to Indonesia is the first leg of USS Fort Worth's tour program to improve cooperation with navies of countries in the Asia-Pacific region.

"This visit reflects our strong partnership bond with Indonesian Navy that continues to develop," Williams said in a statement.

The ship is scheduled to take part in a joint drill between Indonesian and U.S. navies.
