"A South Korean drama film that depicts modern Korean history from the 1950-53 Korean War to the present day through the life of an ordinary man has attracted more than 10 million moviegoers since its release at theaters nationwide about a month ago, a box-office tracker said Wednesday.

Viewers of the movie, "Ode to My Father," totaled 10,000,677 in number as of Jan. 13, according to the state-run Korea Film Council.

The film, directed by Yoon Je-kyoon (“Haeundae” 2009), exceeded the coveted 10 million viewer mark in the 28 days after its release, becoming the 11th South Korean movie to surpass the milestone.

"Ode to My Father" is Yoon's second film to break the 10 million mark, following "Haeundae," a disaster film which sold 11,450,000 tickets in a country with a population of about 50 million.
