Film “Inside Men” broke seven million mark as of Wednesday morning, having the film ranked as the second most viewed R-rated film in Korea.

It is a known fact that R-rated films in South Korean box-office find it hard to gather viewers due to its age limitation. Some films deliberately make changes in plots to change its rating. Experts of the industry expected the film Inside Men would score nicely but not this great.

Inside Men is expected to draw more viewers as its spoken of in the media and among people. Also, director’s cut version will be released on Thursday, which would draw much more viewers as well as people who already seen the movie.

The noir film depicts inside men in dark corners of South Korean society linked to one another, backstabbing and struggling to survive.

Although Inside Men is still popular, it unlikely to take the title of the most-watched R-rated film in Korea. The titleholder is “Friend” which opened in 2001. It gained so much popularity, people were talking about it everywhere, and anytime for a very long time.

And considering age checks in cinemas weren’t very much in action in those days, some under-aged students may have contributed to its eight million view count.
