Elon Musk, the CEO of electric vehicle manufacturer "Tesla" and also the CEO of reusable space rocket project "Space X", had reportedly visited the Pentagon on Wednesday. Many rumors were generated over the unusual occasion and the billionaire tweeted Thursday why he visited the US' defense central. It was "Something about a flying metal suit".
Musk's visit to the Pentagon was first reported by the CNN and many experts assumed that the Pentagon had something to do with the CEO's space program, Space X. But no one thought of such mind blowing thing as a flying metal suit.
Although considering that the Pentagon and the US' Secretary of Defense Ash Carter had been concentrating their efforts on developing exoskeleton suits for a while, Musk's visit isn't much of a surprise. It is plausible to think that the Pentagon is somehow trying to create an exoskeleton suit which could not only perform extreme tasks but also fly. And when considering on making a big bulk of metal fly around, Space X's Elon Musk is the man to talk to.
Space X is a reusable space rocket project which, after unloading its load in low orbit, "Falcon 9", the Space X's rocket, re-enters the Earth's atmosphere, later landing on a landing pad built on a small barge ship.
Although some of its experiment ended up in a great ball of fire, the reusable rocket project had successfully landed the rocket a few times since the beginning of this year, becoming a rival against Blue Origin, another reusable space rocket project.
Once the technology is stabilized and ready for commercial uses, reusable rockets will ensure cheaper costs in sending thins to the outer space or sending tourists out to the moon since much of its rockets can be reused, cutting down costs on rebuilding it.
