A giant painting decorates the main hall of the presidential Blue House. The 11.7-meter-long painting depicts anti-government candle-lit protests against South Korea's jailed ex-president Park Geun-hye who was expelled and jailed for her alleged role in a corruption scandal.
The painting was made public on Tuesday when President Moon Jae-in and his cabinet members took a memorial picture in front of it. Candle-lit rallies were seen as a crucial contributor to Moon's election victory on May 9.
Moon said he borrowed the painting from a collector after seeing it first on the internet. "It looked really good because it was in line with our government spirit," the president was quoted as saying.
