SEOUL -- WeMade, an online game developer in South Korea, has attracted Blockdaemon, a U.S. blockchain deployment facilitator, as a technology cooperation partner to strengthen its WeMix 3.0 ecosystem. A test net was launched on July 1 to create a secure mainnet fused with a stablecoin protocol to develop an ecosystem with partners.
Blockdaemon manages nodes and payment rails for blockchain networks. Under a memorandum of understanding with WeMade, the American crypto startup will operate nodes for the efficient decentralization of WeMix 3.0 and participate in key decision making and support various technology infrastructures necessary for maintaining full security.
"WeMix 3.0 is recruiting global companies and projects as node council partners," WeMade CEO Henry Chang said in a statement on August 1. "We will evolve into a more sustainable and open mainnet through our 100 percent collateralized stablecoin, USDW, and transparent node counseling."
A test net was launched on July 1 to verify the stability of the WeMix 3.0 protocol. WeMade has worked with partners to meet the main requirements of blockchain networks. It will operate with 40 decentralized nodes to create a safe environment.
The mainnet was developed to create a public chain where games, decentralized finance protocols and other blockchain services can smoothly transition and join the network. USDW functions as a value store, account unit and exchange medium.
WeMade, which has created "The Legend of Mir," a free-to-play fantasy massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) based in an ancient oriental world, uses WeMix, a global blockchain gaming platform, to promote play-to-earn (P2E) games, which are early-stage metaverse platforms and allow players to earn a steady income for playing.
P2E games offer rewards and incentives to users based on their platform activity or related in-game achievements. As users earn cryptocurrency based on their gaming activities, they can exchange them for assets on exchanges. Through cooperation with game developers, WeMade aims to introduce 100 blockchain games that use WeMix tokens as key currency by the end of 2022.
