SEOUL, May 01 (AJU PRESS) - A music video for girl band NewJeans's new song "Right Now" was teased on Wednesday. Min Hee-jin, who masterminded the iconic K-pop quintet, also uploaded the video on Instagram the same day.

There are already high expectations about the song as the music video comes as a collaboration with Japanese contemporary artist Murakami Takashi.

Murakami, renowned for blending Japanese traditional art with pop culture, is considered one of Japan's most beloved artists. During his exhibition held in Korea's southern port city of Busan in 2023, the Japanese artist expressed admiration for NewJeans and expressed a wish to meet them. He has previously collaborated with American singer Billie Eilish and K-pop group BLACKPINK.

The video depicts five animated NewJeans characters encountering a rainbow-colored flower crafted by Murakami during a forest stroll. The song is part of "Supernatural" which also serves as the girls' Japanese debut single set for release on June 21.

Currently, Min, CEO of ADOR, a subsidiary of talent agency HYBE is in a management control dispute with the parent company. The entertainment behemoth, which also manages K-pop juggernaut Bangtan Boys, also known as BTS, filed a complaint against Min, alleging breach of trust, citing that she illegally attempted to seize control of ADOR. HYBE holds 80 percent of ADOR's shares, while Min and other executives control the remainder.

Despite the conflict, Min continues to promote NewJeans. Ahead of their Japanese debut, the five-member band will unveil a new album titled "How Sweet" here on May 24. Min already unveiled a promotional photo for the album on April 26, only a day after her press conference regarding the management dispute.
