Citing minor defects that disrupted the eco-friendly ferry service several times despite a six-month trial, the Seoul Metropolitan Government said it will conduct a thorough month-long inspection without passengers, with full operations expected to resume in October.
Launched on Sept. 18 as a new commuting option for Seoulites, the ferry proved popular, attracting over 4,000 passengers on its first day.
But it soon encountered technical glitches including steering and electrical failures, which led to multiple cancellations and raised safety concerns.
