NH Agricultural Distribution, which operates Hanaro Mart, announced on June 28 that it will showcase grapes and blueberries harvested from major domestic regions.
The grapes being released include Gyeongsan's Geobong grapes (sugar content 16-17 Brix), Delaware grapes with a sugar content of 17-18 Brix, and Campbell grapes from Yeongdong (sugar content 15-16 Brix). Each variety is characterized by its rich juice and unique aroma.
The blueberries, also being featured, are domestically sourced from Cheongju in North Chungcheong Province and Hwaseong in Gyeonggi Province. To accommodate consumer preferences, they are available in various sizes: 200g, 300g, and 500g. Additionally, organic blueberries (180g) grown in Anseong, Gyeonggi Province, are also on sale. The sugar content of the seasonal blueberries ranges from 12 to 15 Brix.
Grapes and blueberries are known for their rich anthocyanins and polyphenols, which are powerful antioxidants. According to the Rural Development Administration, resveratrol found in grape skins is known to aid in blood vessel dilation and lower cholesterol levels, contributing to cardiovascular health. The Donguibogam, a traditional Korean medical text, also records grapes as a sweet fruit that helps maintain health during the summer.
An official from NH Agricultural Distribution stated, "It is beneficial to consume nutrient-rich seasonal fruits during the hot summer months. We hope to support our customers' health with fresh produce from excellent domestic farms while also assisting local farmers."
Meanwhile, NH Hanaro Mart continues to expand its supply of seasonal agricultural products linked to outstanding local farms across the country. Recently, it has introduced seasonal peaches from major production areas, including Baekdo, Green Huangdo, and Cheongdo peaches, and earlier this month recommended melons from Yanggu, Gangwon Province, to promote fruit consumption.
