iM Financial Group reported a net profit of 2.956 trillion won for the first half of the year. While total operating profit increased due to expanded corporate lending and improved performance from subsidiaries, net profit saw a slight decline due to increased provisions.

In its earnings announcement on July 27, iM Financial Group stated that its cumulative net profit attributable to shareholders for the first half of 2026 was 2.956 trillion won, a decrease of 4.4% compared to the same period last year. The net profit for the second quarter was 1.411 trillion won, down 9% from 1.550 trillion won in the same quarter last year.

However, the group's total operating profit rose by 4.4% year-on-year. Interest income increased by 4.1% due to expanded corporate lending at iM Bank and growth in operating assets at iM Capital, while non-interest income from iM Securities also grew, supported by a recovery in the capital markets.

By subsidiary, iM Bank recorded a net profit of 2.457 trillion won in the first half, driven by a 5.9% growth in corporate lending. The balance of won-denominated loans surpassed 60 trillion won for the first time. Key soundness indicators, including delinquency rate (0.87%), ratio of non-performing loans (0.94%), and cost of credit (0.41%), were also managed stably.

The growth trend continued for non-bank subsidiaries. iM Capital achieved a net profit of 395 billion won, with operating assets increasing by 13.9% year-on-year, while iM Securities saw a significant rise in commission income due to an active capital market, reporting a net profit of 449 billion won. iM Life contributed to the group's performance with a net profit of 182 billion won, up 31.9% from the same period last year.

The common equity tier 1 (CET1) ratio for the first half improved to a record high of 12.27%.

Meanwhile, iM Financial Group's board of directors approved a plan for an additional 30 billion won in share buybacks and cancellations. Once completed, the total amount of share buybacks and cancellations will reach 1.3 trillion won. The company aims to achieve its target of enhancing corporate value, set at 1.5 trillion won, ahead of schedule by 2027.

Cheon Byeong-kyu, Chief Financial Officer of iM Financial Group, stated, "We will manage our capital ratio stably to achieve the first goal of enhancing corporate value ahead of schedule and actively utilize tax-free dividend opportunities to ensure tangible improvements in shareholder value."
