Seniors in Damyang County are making their own film, drawing attention.

The Damyang Cultural Foundation in Gwangju announced on August 18 that it will run a senior arts education program called 'Damyang Love Youth' from August 25 to November 3.

This program allows participants aged 65 and older to use video media to document their lives and stories from their communities.

It will be held every Tuesday over a total of 10 sessions.

At the Bongsan Cultural Rest Area, seniors will participate in the entire filmmaking process, including planning, shooting, and editing, as they explore stories set in their village, such as 'Bongsan Detective Agency' and 'Wish-Granting Mailbox.'

In Daedeok Unsu-dong, they will create a mini-documentary titled 'The Daedeok I Loved,' capturing the village's scenery and the lives of its residents, and will use artificial intelligence to design a movie poster.

After the films are produced, a screening will be held at the Dambit Cinema in Damyang-eup.

The event will showcase a making film of the production process and include a discussion with the audience.

The Damyang Cultural Foundation stated that seniors will have a unique experience challenging themselves with new video media while leaving a creative legacy of their stories and their community.
