Now in its fourth year, the festival, known as the WOW Festival, will take place Sept. 5 at the Wonju Dancing Performance Hall in Gangwon Province, featuring booths showcasing traditional games, clothing, food and cultural programs from around the world.
Food booths and trucks will offer French, German, Hawaiian, Italian and North Korean dishes, while other programs will introduce traditional Korean culture.
Visitors can also join hands-on craft programs including gem soap and keyring making, plaster clay art, resin crafts, sugar candy or dalgona making, bead bracelet making and hanji crafts. Other activities will include airbrush tattoos and more.
Launched in 2023, the festival aims to give locals an opportunity to experience different cultures and promote greater mutual understanding.
Lee Ji-hee, who oversees the festival, said she hopes the event will give visitors a chance to experience different traditions and gain a better understanding of cultural differences.
