The Small Business Association is creating an ecosystem for the overseas expansion of small businesses.

On September 10, the association announced that the '2026 Small Business Global Scale-Up Delegation' visited Vietnam from September 2 to 5 to promote local market entry for small businesses and enhance economic cooperation between the two countries.

This initiative is the first follow-up project of the 'Korea-Vietnam Joint Small Business Support Agreement' signed in July between the Small Business Association and the Vietnamese Embassy in South Korea.

Previously, the two organizations agreed to collaborate on the global expansion and joint development of small businesses, as well as on digital management (DX), artificial intelligence transformation (AX), and nurturing the next generation of small business leaders.

The delegation focused on establishing a cooperative foundation connecting the Vietnamese government, local economic organizations, and the Korean business network, while exploring local business opportunities for participating sectors.

During a meeting with Phan Thi Thang, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of Vietnam, they requested administrative support from the Vietnamese government to ensure stable local entry for Korean small businesses. They also agreed to strengthen the cooperation system to support small businesses entering Vietnam through a meeting with the Korean Chamber of Commerce in Vietnam (KOCHAM).

Song Chi-young, president of the Small Business Association, stated, 'We will create a global expansion model so that our small businesses' excellent products and services can compete in the global market beyond local neighborhoods.'
