The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Creative Content Agency will host the '2026 K-Expo Mexico' from September 24 to 27 at the Mexico City International Exhibition and Convention Center (CIEC WTC).

The event will highlight K-content alongside related industries such as food, beauty, and tourism, supporting domestic companies in their international expansion through consultations with key buyers from Latin America.

Mexico is considered a strategic entry point into the Spanish-speaking markets of North and Latin America. According to the Korea International Cultural Exchange Agency, total exports attributed to the Korean Wave reached $18.975 billion (approximately 26 trillion won) last year, marking a 15.9% increase from the previous year.

The exhibition and experiential events, running from September 25 to 27, will feature participation from organizations such as the Korea Tourism Organization and the Korea Agro-Fisheries & Food Trade Corporation (aT), as well as companies like Samsung Electronics, Kia, LG Electronics, Amorepacific, CJ CheilJedang, Nongshim, and Netflix. Attendees will have the opportunity to experience K-food, beauty, tourism, gaming, characters, and music. A new promotional space called 'K-Content Effect' will showcase products featured in indirect advertising (PPL) within a simulated living environment.

K-pop events will also take place. On September 25, the 'K-Pop Cover Dance All-Stars in Mexico' will feature teams competing in cover dance performances. On September 26, a showcase titled 'Korea Spotlight' will be held at the Pepsi Center in Mexico City, presented in the format of a K-pop concert.

A business-to-business (B2B) program aimed at facilitating domestic companies' entry into the Latin American market will occur from September 24 to 25. The Korea Creative Content Agency will arrange one-on-one export consultations between 120 participating companies and key buyers from Mexico and other Latin American countries, providing tailored business matching across sectors such as broadcasting, online video services (OTT), gaming, and characters.

Kim Yoon-ji, head of the Korea Creative Content Agency, stated, 'Mexico is a key hub in Latin America where high interest in K-content translates into consumption across various sectors, including food and beauty. We will support domestic companies to achieve concrete export results in the Latin American market.'
