After securing traffic rights from the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport in April, Eastar Jet decided to offer regular flights to the city amid steady demand for the route. The airline first began irregular flights between Incheon and Manado in October last year, becoming the first carrier to connect the two cities.
The route operates daily, with seven flights per week. Outbound flights depart Incheon International Airport at 8:25 p.m., while return flights leave Manado’s Sam Ratulangi International Airport at 2:20 a.m. local time. The flight takes approximately 5 hours and 30 minutes.
Individual travelers can now purchase tickets directly through Eastar Jet’s website rather than booking through travel agencies.
To mark the launch of regular flights to the city, Eastar Jet is offering a special promotion this week, with one-way fares starting at 168,100 South Korean won (US$124). The promotion will also include prizes such as local hotel stays and activity passes.
"Although Manado remains a relatively unfamiliar destination among South Koreans, demand for the route has remained strong," an Eastar Jet spokesperson said. "We will promote the route to help Manado grow into a popular destination among travelers here."
