The Hwasun Jeokbyeok Cultural Festival will take place from October 9 for two days at the Iseo Community Center and the Jeokbyeok area.

A pre-exhibition has been ongoing since October 2 in the lobby of the Hwasun County Hall, featuring a photo exhibition titled 'Hwasun Jeokbyeok Photo Invitation,' which will run until October 8. Artists Kim Jong-ho, Lim Geun-young, and Moon Byeong-o have captured the four seasons and scenic beauty of Jeokbyeok.

On the first day of the festival, October 9, attendees can enjoy programs featuring music in nature and traditional performances.

From 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Mangmijeong, the 'GEO Environmental Music Concert' will showcase a brass ensemble, vocal performances, and violin, flute, and cello music, along with traditional Korean music. Familiar tunes from semi-classical and film soundtracks will be performed against the backdrop of Jeokbyeok's stunning scenery.

At the same location, a 'Pungnyu Tea and Snack Table' will be available for 20 pre-registered participants, featuring teas and snacks made from local agricultural products.

A free shuttle bus to Jeokbyeok will operate from the Iseo Community Center from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at one-hour intervals on the first day.

The second day, October 10, will include a guided walk along the normally restricted Jeokbyeok trail, wellness experiences, and a youth literature award ceremony.

In the morning, participants can walk a 4.8 km forest path in a water source protection area, which is usually off-limits to pedestrians, and get close to Jeokbyeok at viewpoints 1 and 2 during the 'Walking to Meet Jeokbyeok' event for pre-registered individuals.

Following this, a cello and traditional Korean instruments performance will take place at Mangmijeong at 11 a.m., and a wellness program titled 'Jeokbyeok, Rest' featuring yoga and meditation will begin at 1:30 p.m.

At 1:30 p.m. at the Iseo Community Center, an award ceremony for a writing contest capturing Jeokbyeok from the perspective of youth will be held, with winning entries displayed in a healing zone under the Yasarri Zelkova tree.

The free shuttle bus to Jeokbyeok will run both days from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., with the last return bus departing at 4:30 p.m.

During the festival, the main event area at the Iseo Community Center will feature a food market prepared by local residents, booths selling regional agricultural products, and family-friendly activities such as woodworking and grain malang-making.

Goo Jong-cheon, CEO of the Hwasun County Cultural Tourism Foundation, stated, 'This year's Jeokbyeok Cultural Festival has been prepared to showcase the diverse charms of Jeokbyeok, from the annual opening of the Jeokbyeok forest trail to music concerts and healing experiences.'
