LS Electric is accelerating its entry into the North American data center power infrastructure market by signing a long-term supply agreement (LTA) with a global tech giant.
On October 19, LS Electric announced it has secured a $125.23 million (approximately 168.9 billion won) contract to supply power distribution solutions for North American data centers. This long-term supply agreement, effective from next year through 2028, pertains to the supply volume scheduled for 2027.
The scope of the 2028 project will be finalized after further discussions with the tech company.
The supplied items include 38kV high-voltage switchgear, which reliably distributes high-voltage power entering data centers and protects equipment in case of power anomalies. Given the nature of AI data centers, which require a continuous supply of large-scale power 24/7, high quality and reliability are essential for this critical infrastructure.
Starting with this high-voltage switchgear supply, LS Electric is also in discussions to provide additional high-end power equipment tailored for data centers, including low-voltage switchgear, distribution transformers, and ring main units (RMUs).
LS Electric is operating a local complete value chain encompassing sales, design, production, and service from its bases in Cedar City, Utah, and the Bastrop Campus in Texas to respond to market demand.
An LS Electric official stated, "The trust built on our excellent data center solution technology and execution experience has led to this long-term supply agreement. We aim to increase the supply of high-value-added products for data centers to secure a stable revenue base and maximize profitability."
