Multiple shootings occurred at Halloween stores in the United States just a day before Halloween.
According to AFP, a shooting took place at a Spirit Halloween store in a shopping mall in Fairfield, California, around 8:30 p.m. local time on October 30, resulting in one death and six injuries.
Local police reported that the injured were transported to hospitals, with at least three in critical condition. Authorities have not yet identified a suspect and are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.
On the same day, a shooting at a Spirit Halloween store in Madison Heights, Michigan, also resulted in one fatality. Local reports indicated that the shooting stemmed from an argument between two 21-year-old men. One of the men was shot and later died at the hospital.
Police have arrested a man identified as a suspect in the Michigan shooting but do not consider it a random act of violence, and they are looking into the details of the incident.
