Peshawar, a city in Pakistan, again suffered from deadly bomb blast when a car carrying a bomb hit Jalozai refugee camp. Twelve people were killed in the blast, reports say.

According to the reports, the blast occurred when people were making line to get food at the camp, and sudden bomb blast injured 30 people and 12 of them were reported dead. Many innocent people were killed in the blast. Poor victims of the incident were immediately taken to a nearby hospital.

Fuad Khan, a police official who was taking care of security of the camp at that time, said that a bomb was planted in a car parked near an administration office. It is a place where people gather for new registration and to get rations.

A few days ago, police arrested a member of Lashkar-e-Islam group and he was taken into custody. Police suspect that the bomb blast was revenge of his arrest. Police is doing investigation and trying to find solid evidence for the incident.

Now, Pakistan is preparing for elections which will be held on May 11 and it is the first time that votes would be contested in the tribal areas as well, which is very risky and requires high security in order to make the voting safe. The reform is introduced by the government as a step to fight militancy.

The camp is run by the Pakistani government and receives aid from many international organizations. It consists of around 16,000 families, schools and hospitals. Various training programs are usually conducted in order to help people return to their homes. The camp venue was initially inhabited by Afghan refugees. Camp was set at such a place near Afghan border and where many of the terrorists usually take shelter. Militants linked with Taliban and al-Qaida use the camp as a hideout, according to local police.
