Chinese President Xi embarks on 4-nation trip

President Xi Jinping Friday embarked on a four-nation trip to Trinidad and Tobago, Costa Rica, Mexico and the United States, Chinese media reported.

Xi is scheduled to hold a summit meeting with Trinidad and Tobago's President Anthony Carmona, Costa Rican President Laura Chinchilla, Mexican President Enrique Pena Nieto and U.S. President Barack Obama.

Summit talks between Xi and Obama are slated for June 7-8.

Xi's entourage includes his wife Peng Liyuan; Wang Huning, member of the Political Bureau and director of the Policy Research Office of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee; Li Zhanshu, member of the Political Bureau and Secretariat and director of the General Office of the CPC Central Committee; and State Councilor Yang Jiechi, according to the report.
