A movie, adapted from "Miss Granny," a South Korean box-office hit early this year, will be jointly produced by South Korean and Chinese filmmakers, the movie’s copyright holder in Seoul said Tuesday.

CJ E&M said the filming for the Chinese adaptation of the South Korean comedy-drama film directed by Hwang Dong-hyuk will begin next month for release in the Chinese market.

"Miss Granny," starring Na Moon-hee and Shim Eun-kyung, drew 8.65 million movie-goers after opening theaters on Jan. 22.
