Grammy, organized by the U.S. National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences (NARAS), is one of the world's most prestigious music awards events. It features various performances by prominent artists.
On November 24, NARAS unveiled final candidates for the 64th Grammy Awards scheduled for February 1, 2022. BTS was nominated for the Best Pop Duo/Group Performance section with "Butter." Other candidates include American rapper Doja Cat who released "Kiss Me More" in April 2021 and British rock band Coldplay that sang "Higher Power." Coldplay collaborated with Ambiguous Dance Company, a South Korean contemporary dance performance group, to release Higher Power in May 2021.
This is the second time that BTS has been nominated by Grammy. The group was nominated for the Best Pop Duo/Group Performance category with its first full English song "Dynamite" at the annual music awards event in March 2021 but the award was given to American singers Lady Gaga and Ariana Grande for their collab "Rain On Me."
BTS has won four awards at the Billboard Music Awards and three at the American Music Awards in 2021. The group is also preparing for its offline concert "BTS Permission to Dance on Stage - LA" at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles. The concert will be held on November 27 and 28, and December 1 and 2. Big Hit Music will stream the concert live at YouTube Theater, a live theater in LA with 6,000 seats.
