SEOUL -- Lotte Wellfood, the confectionary wing of South Korea's conglomerate Lotte, has released a limited-edition chocolate product "Crunky" with special paper covers bearing images of BTS members. A total of eight types with images of individual members and one with a group photo, are available.

Crunky is a crunchy chocolate snack filled with rice puffs. The popular crispy chocolate, released in 1974 at the Japanese office of Lotte, started its production in South Korea in 1984. In 2014, Lotte collaborated with boy band EXO to promote the popular chocolate bar snack.

Lotte Wellfood, formerly known as Lotte Confectionery, said on October 4 that the limited-edition snack "CRUNKY" was released in collaboration with the K-pop phenomenon. The food company has not disclosed the specific number of snacks. Images of artists were placed in the middle of the package. Consumers can also find hidden images by collecting all eight products and stacking them up on the side of the packages.

Lotte Wellfood will also showcase another chocolate product with the image of BTS later this month. The seven-member band, currently taking a hiatus, would resume its group activities in 2025 after completing their compulsory military service. Currently, three BTS members -- Jin, J-Hope, and Suga -- are fulfilling the mandatory service.
