SEOUL -- Jungkook, the youngest member of BTS, has ranked second on Billboard's top 200 popular albums chart with his very first solo album "Golden." American singer-songwriter Taylor Swift took first place with "1989 (Taylor's Version)."

Jungkook's album, released on November 3, debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 chart with 210,200 equivalent album units sold in the United States in the week ending November 13. The album, containing 11 English songs, depicts the story of the 26-year-old artist's journey to becoming a global pop star. The music video for the album's title track "Standing Next to You" garnered more than 33 million views on YouTube.

The main vocalist of BTS collaborated with various global producers, including British singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran and American producer Andrew Watt, for the album. The album has recorded some 2.14 million sales only three hours after its release.

Jungkook is the sixth member of BTS to make his solo debut after J-Hope, Jin, RM, Jimin, and Suga. His debut song "Seven" was listed on Billboard's top 100 popular song chart for 13 consecutive weeks. In May 2023, he was picked as the global ambassador of Calvin Klein, an iconic American fashion brand recognized for its underwear and denim products. As the ambassador, he is promoting various fashion items and campaigns.

During an exclusive interview with Apple Music, an online monthly music subscription service, Jungkook said he is looking forward to his reunion with fellow BTS members in 2025. The seven-member band is expected to resume its group activities in 2025 after all members finish their military service.
