SEOUL, June 18 (AJP) - President Lee Jae Myung will brief on the outcomes of his recent trip to Europe, Cheong Wa Dae said on Thursday.
Presidential spokesperson Kang Yu-jung said Lee, who has just returned from the trip, will provide reporters with explanations at a press briefing scheduled for 2 p.m. on Friday.
He is expected to highlight several key achievements from the trip including his meeting with Pope Leo XIV at the Vatican, during which he sought the pope's support for peace on the Korean Peninsula, and also address his efforts to expand cooperation with European countries.
Lee, who began his 10-day trip to Europe last Tuesday and traveled to Belgium, Italy, and the Vatican before heading to France for the Group of Seven (G7) summit in Évian-les-Bains, arrived this afternoon.
During the G7 gathering, Lee held bilateral talks with a slew of global leaders including those from Canada, Germany, and Kenya, and met with U.S. President Donald Trump several times to discuss issues related to North Korea, seeking his support for peace on the Korean Peninsula.
