Hyundai Rotem has announced a restructuring aimed at strengthening its future business competitiveness.

On July 2, the company revealed that it has integrated its previously dispersed next-generation business units to enhance operational efficiency and proactively respond to diverse project demands.

The name of the defense business division, Defense Solutions (DS), will be changed to the 'AD (Aerospace & Defense) & RH (Robot & Hydrogen) Division.' The division will be reorganized from one business unit and four departments to two business units and six departments.

The Global Defense Solutions Division, which handled overseas defense business, will be renamed the AD Global Division, incorporating aerospace responsibilities. Organizations responsible for robotics and hydrogen across three sectors—defense, rail, and eco-plants—will be consolidated into the newly elevated RH Division. The RH Division will consist of the Robotics AX Department and the Hydrogen Energy Department. The existing DS Planning Department and DS Domestic Business Department will be renamed the AD & RH Planning Department and the AD Customer Experience Department, respectively.

The Rail Solutions Division will be renamed the RS (Rail & System) Division. Its structure will shift from eight departments to one business unit and eight departments. The domestic business unit, which oversaw public and private projects, will be elevated to the RS Customer Experience Division. The domestic business and private project departments will be renamed the RS Domestic Business Department and the RS Private Project Department, respectively, with the operations and maintenance (O&M) organization within the private project department elevated to the RS O&M Department.

A Hyundai Rotem representative stated, "As a company engaged in national key industries, we approach all our businesses with a heavy sense of responsibility. We will do our utmost to ensure that the strengthening of our future business capabilities through this restructuring translates into customer satisfaction."

Meanwhile, Hyundai Rotem is accelerating the advancement of its ground weapon systems with recent concepts for the export version of the K2 tank, unmanned and manned hybrid systems, and multipurpose unmanned vehicles.
