KinoTone and Nonuni Special Forces Entertainment are collaborating on a new immersive theater project called 'The-BOX.'
On September 18, the two companies signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to combine KinoTone's video, audio, and LED technology with Nonuni Special Forces' content planning, AI video production capabilities, and artist network.
The first 'The-BOX' location is set to open in Seoul in the first half of 2027, with plans to expand to multiplex theaters both domestically and internationally.
'The-BOX' will feature a multi-purpose immersive theater space showcasing K-POP live streaming, performances, media art, and family and children's content, all based on LED technology. KinoTone will apply immersive video, audio, and broadcasting technologies developed in collaboration with the U.S. immersive entertainment company COSM to 'The-BOX.'
Nonuni Special Forces will focus on securing content and developing new offerings centered around K-POP. Co-CEO Kim Hyung-seok, a composer and producer with over 1,400 registered copyrights, plans to leverage his production experience and network to secure content intellectual property.
KinoTone CEO Bae Yoon-sung stated, “The combination of technology and content will provide a viewing experience different from traditional theaters.”
Co-CEO Kim Hyung-seok of Nonuni Special Forces added, “We aim to develop a space that connects diverse content and audiences based on our AI video production capabilities and K-POP artist network.”
