On October 14, the People Power Party initiated discussions on the societal changes brought about by advancements in artificial intelligence (AI) and how the political sphere should respond. Following a previous event that assessed the current state of AI technology, this session aimed to identify policy challenges in preparation for the social transformations that AI will bring.

The People Power Party, in collaboration with the Yeouido Institute, held the 'AI Revolution: What Should We Prepare for and How Should We Respond?' session at the National Assembly. Party leader Jang Dong-hyuk had previously suggested that the follow-up topic for the academy should focus on what preparations are necessary for the changing society due to AI.

During the event, Jang stated, "Last time, we discussed the current state of our AI technology. After attending that lecture, I wanted to explore what our politics should prepare for in response to the threats posed by the advancement of AI, which is why we are holding this academy today."

He added, "By gathering like this for the academy, we can find solutions to these issues together. Politics must work harder to find answers in advance for the benefit of all citizens."

The newly established Wednesday Policy Academy, launched on September 30, serves as a breakfast seminar where experts present and attendees discuss policy challenges. The plan is to hold discussions with field experts every other Wednesday to develop these policy challenges into concrete party policies and legislation.
