Parata Airlines has completed the acquisition of its sixth aircraft to expand its international routes.
On October 14, Parata Airlines announced that it has signed a contract for the Airbus A320-200 aircraft. The aircraft, registered as HL8788, will undergo internal modifications and maintenance after being brought into the country, followed by necessary procedures with relevant authorities before it enters service.
With this new addition, Parata Airlines' fleet will consist of three A320-200s and three A330-200s, totaling six aircraft. The A320-200 is primarily intended for domestic flights and medium to short-haul routes to Japan and China.
Since commencing commercial operations in September 2022, Parata Airlines has been expanding its international flights, focusing on Japan and Vietnam. The airline is now accelerating its entry into the Chinese market in the latter half of this year.
On November 9, it will launch a new route from Incheon to Shenzhen, operating four times a week. This will be Parata Airlines' first regular service to China, utilizing an A330-200 aircraft with 18 business class seats.
Recently, the airline secured rights to operate on major routes to China, including Incheon to Shanghai and Hangzhou, through the allocation of international air transport rights. Consequently, a new route from Yangyang to Shanghai will commence in December, marking the resumption of regular international flights from Yangyang International Airport. The airline is also working on procedures to launch a route from Incheon to Los Angeles in the first half of next year.
A Parata Airlines official stated, "The introduction of our sixth aircraft will further strengthen our foundation for the stable operation of our continuously expanding domestic and international routes."
Meanwhile, Parata Airlines is also preparing for its entry into the U.S. market by hiring Brian Kim, a former executive from Air Premia, as the new head of its Los Angeles branch.
