The Korea Securities Depository (KSD) has reported an average annual contribution of 1.8 billion won (approximately $1.3 million) to social initiatives over the past four years.

According to the KSD's recent disclosure on its social contribution activities, the average annual contribution for social and innovative enterprise support was 1.783 billion won. The contributions by year include 2.304 billion won in 2023, 1.572 billion won in 2024, and 1.707 billion won in 2025. This year, the KSD plans to allocate 1.545 billion won, with 493 million won already disbursed by the end of the third quarter.

This year, the KSD has decided to refrain from one-time support for social contribution activities but will actively consider assistance in response to emergencies such as disasters.

As part of its local talent development program, the KSD is focusing on the 'KSD Financial and Securities Open Campus,' a job training program for university students in Busan. This year, 60 students from 12 universities in the Busan area participated in the eighth iteration of the program.

The KSD is also collaborating with other institutions in Busan to provide a total of 1.98 billion won in scholarships over ten years, from 2022 to 2031.

Additionally, to stimulate the local economy, the KSD has contributed a total of 1.14 billion won over the past nine years, with 130 million won allocated this year. The KSD plans to actively support the growth of innovative startups in the region through the 'KSD Innovation Startup-Scale-Up Support Fund,' established in 2021.
