Renewable energy, smart power management, and artificial intelligence (AI) robots for battery disassembly will be showcased as technologies aiding the industrial decarbonization transition. The government will support the commercialization and market access of green technologies through exhibitions, export consultations, and business networking.

The Ministry of Climate Energy and Environment and the Korea Environmental Industry and Technology Institute announced that the '2026 Korea ESG Eco Fair' will take place at COEX in Gangnam, Seoul, from October 21 to 23.

Now in its 22nd year, this exhibition is themed 'Korean Green Transition (K-GX).' A total of 234 companies are participating, with 433 booths set up across five exhibition halls.

The newly established Energy and Power Hall will introduce renewable energy, energy efficiency improvements, and smart power management technologies. The Carbon Neutral Solutions Hall will feature technologies and services that assist companies in reducing carbon emissions through fuel conversion and greenhouse gas management, while the ESG Solutions Hall will showcase disclosure platforms, consulting services, and supply chain management systems.

The Resource Recycling Hall will highlight recycling and reuse technologies for plastics, solar panels, and marine and industrial waste. The Green Products and Construction Hall will display environmentally labeled and low-carbon products, as well as eco-friendly construction-related products and services.

Digital technologies applicable to the environmental sector will also be presented. This includes physical AI robots that automate the disassembly process of used batteries and a disclosure response platform that standardizes and manages corporate ESG data in a verifiable system. The AI Special Hall will introduce commercialization support projects for AI applications in the environmental sector and participating companies.

Programs have been established to connect exhibition technologies with actual transactions and collaborations. Support for domestic and international market development will be provided through overseas export consultations, public procurement consultations, and business linkages among participating companies. An eco-design policy forum and an environmental research and development (R&D) investment briefing will also be held.

A 'Green Stage' will be operated for the first time this year, where participating companies will explain technology application methods and case studies. Presentations and Q&A sessions will focus on energy transition and efficiency on October 21, carbon reduction and ESG responses on October 22, and AI and robotics-based environmental innovation on October 23.

On October 22, the '5th Korea ESG Forum' will take place in the exhibition hall. The morning session will cover the Korean Green Transition strategy, national greenhouse gas reduction targets, transition finance, domestic sustainability disclosure standards, and voluntary carbon markets.

In the afternoon, corporate case studies will be shared on ESG disclosures using digital platforms, responses to product environmental regulations, energy transition and low-carbon strategies in manufacturing, and life cycle assessment (LCA) using AI.

A green consumption and resource-saving experience program will also be available for visitors. The Green Card promotion booth will provide information on green consumption and public transportation initiatives, while the Eco Life theme hall and Zero Waste experience hall will introduce eco-friendly consumption methods that can be practiced in daily life. During the event, a pilot project to quantify carbon footprints and reduce single-use items will be implemented.

Lee Ho-hyun, the Second Vice Minister of Climate, stated, "The Korean Green Transition is a process of transforming our industry into a green industry that reduces carbon and creates new growth opportunities. This year's Eco Fair will serve as a venue for companies to find practical solutions and new business opportunities necessary for green transition."
