Coupang is enhancing quality control for fresh produce in collaboration with small agricultural partners.
Coupang's private brand (PB) subsidiary, CPLB, announced on the 28th that it held the '2026 Supplier Agricultural Quality Briefing' on the 27th at its office in Gwangjin-gu, Seoul.
The event was attended by representatives from 81 small vegetable and fruit suppliers across the country, totaling 105 participants. Including CPLB employees, the total attendance was approximately 120.
During the briefing, strategies for seasonal agricultural quality management, examples of quality improvements based on customer feedback, and preventive measures for quality-related issues were shared. Collaborative strategies for stable product supply were also discussed.
Particularly, the briefing focused on quality management examples tailored to the characteristics of fresh produce, which can vary due to seasonal factors such as temperature and weather. The plan is to strengthen communication with partners to ensure rapid responses to any quality issues that may arise.
CPLB has been holding annual agricultural quality briefings since 2024. Last year, over 100 small agricultural suppliers participated, sharing on-site management strategies including product quality standards, inspection criteria, return cases, and pest control. This year, the focus shifted to seasonal management and quality improvements utilizing customer feedback.
During the event, CPLB presented appreciation plaques to two partners, Woongnong Agricultural Cooperative and Nadul Agricultural Company, for their contributions to excellent quality management and stable supply.
Lee Kwang-hee, CEO of Nadul Agricultural Company, stated, "Through Coupang, we have been able to expand our market channels steadily, achieving over 50% growth in sales, and our company has grown significantly. We will strive to apply the discussions from this meeting to provide even better agricultural products."
CPLB is enhancing the competitiveness of its PB products through collaboration with small manufacturers. According to the company, nine out of ten of its PB partners are small manufacturers, and their products account for over 90% of Coupang's PB sales.
In September, Coupang also held the 'Coupang Only Festa' in Seongsu-dong, showcasing over 700 types of PB products and private brand items from small manufacturers. Approximately 6,000 visitors attended the four-day event. The company continues to support quality management for its partners while expanding consumer engagement activities.
Solai Sakhtibel, Executive Director of CPLB, remarked, "The ability to provide high-quality fresh agricultural products to customers is thanks to the expertise and continuous efforts of our small partner companies. We will continue to expand various collaboration opportunities to enhance our partners' competitiveness and ensure sustainable growth."
