SEOUL -- North Korea has heralded its successful launch of a military spy satellite, about three hours after a carrier rocket was fired from a launch facility in Cholsan County which juts into the West Sea, also known as the Yellow Sea on November 21. Pyongyang had previously notified Japan on November 21 that it would attempt to launch a rocket to send a satellite into orbit between November 22 and December 1. However, the launch took place a day before the previously noticed time.
