The 2012 film "Love Games," directed by Joung Yu-mi, received the grand prize in the category of short films at the 24th Animafest Zagreb that ended Sunday after a six-day run, becoming the first South Korean top prize-winning film at the festival.
Joung was given a cash prize of 2,500 euro (about US$3,390).
In February, the 15-minute film was invited to compete in the short films category of the 64th Berlin International Film Festival in Berlin, Germany.
Animafest Zagreb is one of the world's four major animated film festivals along with France’s Annecy, Canada's Ottawa and Japan's Hiroshima.
