South Korea's consumer confidence remains low.
The country's consumer confidence index fell by one point to 52.0 points in the third quarter from the previous quarter, ranking 57th among 60 countries surveyed, according to Nielsen Company Thursday.
Serbia placed 58th with 51.0 points; Croatia, 59th with 49.1 points; and Italy at the bottom of the list with 47.0 points, according to the Nielsen Global Consumer Confidence Index which was measured based on an online survey of 30,000 consumers in 60 nations, including 506 South Koreans.
India posted the highest score of 126.2 points, followed by Indonesia (125.2), the Philippines (115.5), Thailand (113.8) and the United Arab Emirates (112.3).
The worldwide consumer confidence index stood at 98.0, up one point from the previous quarter, Nielsen said.
A reading above 100 on the index means optimists outnumber pessimists.
