A teaser video clip for an upcoming SBS drama "The Legend of the Blue Sea" starring two "Hallyu" big shots, Lee Min-ho and Jun Ji-hyun, has been unveiled.
The drama, scheduled for its premiere on November 16, is based on a Korean fable recorded in a story collection called "Eou Yadam", which was published in the early 17th century. The drama depicts a story about a fisherman's encounter with mermaids.
The story will be adapted to a modern format. Lee Min-ho will play the main role as a con artist and Jun Ji-hyun plays the role of the last remaining mermaid. The two top celebrities will unravel a beautiful love story.
There have been unconfirmed reports that the drama was sold to a Chinese broadcasting company for an average of 50,000 US dollars per episode. But the drama's producing company, Culture Depot, said in a statement: "It is true that several Chinese companies have contacted us for license deals but no actual deal was made."
