SEOUL, April 05 (AJU PRESS) - iaaa, a virtual artist created by South Korean content startup Studio Meta-K, will drop her debut song "Our Season." Through the digital single, the 21-year-old virtual human will portray the innocence of first love, along with the nostalgic memories of spring between two people.
The 173-centimeter (68-inch)-tall digital human is a member of Studio Meta-K's virtual artist group "Season." iaaa made her debut in February 2024 as a special host on "RE-ALIVE," a music program broadcast by South Korea's TV network JTBC. To create the music video for Our Seasons, she collaborated with entertainment agencies such as Big Ocean and Zanybros.
Studio Meta-K said Our Season will be available on music streaming platforms starting on April 7. The teaser video, released on April 4, showcased iaaa collaborating with actor Cha Woong-gi. The virtual human performed her debut song last month at the South by Southwest (SXSW) event, a major art festival in Texas. At the showcase event, Studio Meta-K CEO Kim Kwang-Jib unveiled his ambition to advance toward the fusion of technology and intellectual property (IP) content.
The trend of adopting artificial humans is gaining momentum in South Korea's entertainment scene. Reah Keem, a virtual musician developed by LG Electronics, made her debut in January 2022 through a partnership with entertainment company Mystic Story. MAVE:, a virtual K-pop idol crafted by the metaverse division of South Korea's prominent game publisher Netmarble, garnered more than 28 million views on YouTube through the music video for its dance song "Pandora Box."
