President Yoon and Prime Minister Modi to Strengthen Korea-India Relations

President Yoon Suk Yeol announced on June 16 that he met with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi during the G7 summit in Évian-les-Bains, France.

In a post on X (formerly Twitter), President Yoon stated, "Until now, the level of cooperation between India and South Korea has been very low compared to our economic scale and potential for collaboration. We have decided to enhance cooperation in all areas—economic, cultural, and social—and to develop a new relationship between our two countries."

President Yoon also shared a post from Prime Minister Modi, who wrote, "It was a pleasure to meet President Yoon in Évian and have a very fruitful discussion. Our countries are collaborating in various fields, including trade and commerce."

Earlier, President Yoon visited India in April for a state visit, where he held a summit with Prime Minister Modi.
