On August 19, LG CNS announced it signed a memorandum of understanding with Tower PMC, a company specializing in managing premium residential facilities, to establish a security robot solution service.
Tower PMC manages several high-end residential complexes in South Korea, including Tower Palace, Hannam The Hill, Acro Seoul Forest, and Raemian One Bailey.
The robots will utilize LG CNS's robot platform, 'PhysicalWorks,' for on-site data learning and operation. The learning platform 'PhysicalWorks Pose' will train the robots with field data, while the integrated control platform 'PhysicalWorks Baton' will manage and operate the robots' tasks.
Based on this agreement, the two companies will conduct technology verification for the introduction of security robots at Tower Palace in Gangnam, Seoul, over the next two months, with actual operations expected to begin in the fourth quarter.
LG CNS will train the robots using data from the residential environment, including space layout, patrol routes, and emergency situations such as falls and fires.
The robots will autonomously patrol common areas and underground parking lots, alerting management if they detect suspicious behavior or overheating in electric vehicles and charging facilities. This will enable managers to respond quickly to on-site situations. The robots are equipped with two-way voice communication, allowing real-time interaction to assess situations and determine appropriate follow-up actions.
LG CNS aims to support rapid learning and operation of the robots, reducing their deployment period from several months to just one or two months.
