SEOUL, September 21 (AJP) - South Korean self-photo booth operator Seobuk filed for a preliminary review to list on the KOSDAQ on Monday, starting the formal process toward an initial public offering (IPO) for its flagship Photoism brand.

The company applied to list 12.63 million shares including 2.6 million shares planned for the public offering, according to Korea Exchange (KRX).

Founded in 2020, Seobuk is a global entertainment platform that operates flagship brand Photoism, a self-photo booth and studio business.

The company has expanded beyond photo booths through Snapism, which offers photocards and customized merchandise, and Waku Waku, an arcade and merchandise platform built around character and entertainment intellectual property (IP).

It reported revenue of 60.44 billion won (US$43.6 million) and a net loss of 8.76 billion won ($6.3 million). Chief Executive Kim Min-seok holds a 70 percent stake.

The company has also expanded overseas. It established Photoism Japan in 2022 and added subsidiaries in Singapore and the U.S. in 2025.

Photoism's self-photo booths allow customers to take pictures without a photographer, often using themed frames and K-pop collaborations.

Its KOSDAQ filing comes after the company pushed back its IPO timetable earlier this year amid weaker earnings.
