Lotte Duty Free has partnered with global skincare brand SK-II to expand personalized beauty services at its Myeongdong and Incheon Airport locations.
On September 28, during the '2026 TFWA World' exhibition in Cannes, France, Lotte Duty Free announced it signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with SK-II to strengthen their strategic business partnership. The signing ceremony was attended by Kim Dong-ha, CEO of Lotte Duty Free, and Lee Soo-kyung, President of P&G Global Skincare.
The two companies will collaborate in five areas: enhancing customer service and consulting, differentiating gifting services at the Incheon Airport flagship store, expanding joint promotions and marketing, developing joint business plans and market strategies, and identifying new collaboration opportunities.
At the Lotte Duty Free Myeongdong flagship store, SK-II will expand its presence and operate a 'Skin Ceremony Table' to provide tailored skin consultations, enhancing the in-store experience for customers.
At the Incheon Airport location, Lotte Duty Free will introduce exclusive gifting services using 'initial charms' and ribbons. The Myeongdong store will focus on professional consultations, while the airport will enhance services tailored to gift demand, reflecting the unique characteristics of each location.
VIP marketing efforts will also be expanded. The two companies plan to host a VIP customer event at the Myeongdong flagship store in the first quarter of 2027, featuring SK-II skin experts who will introduce the brand's key ingredient, PITERA, and provide skincare education.
Lotte Duty Free and SK-II have previously engaged in joint marketing initiatives. In February, they introduced SK-II's new products to Lotte Duty Free's VIP customers, combining a flower class, hand massage, and product consultations into a beauty class.
Following the TFWA event, Lotte Duty Free is also expanding its collaborations with global brands. On September 29, it signed an agreement with Moët Hennessy, and on the same day, it partnered with LVMH Beauty and William Grant & Sons, the supplier of Glenfiddich and Balvenie. This expansion aims to broaden collaboration in product sourcing, retail services, and marketing, particularly in beauty and liquor.
Kim Dong-ha, CEO of Lotte Duty Free, stated, “This MOU is an opportunity to further strengthen Lotte Duty Free's global brand network and expertise in beauty retail. We will continue to enhance our duty-free competitiveness by offering differentiated products and customer experiences based on close partnerships with global brands.”
Additionally, Lotte Duty Free recently opened a standalone store for LF's premium contemporary brand, Hazzys, at its Myeongdong flagship. This marks the first time Hazzys apparel has been available in a standalone format at a duty-free store.
From January to August this year, Lotte Duty Free's K-fashion sales to foreign customers increased by 55% compared to the same period last year, prompting the company to expand the presence of domestic brands to meet the growing demand from international tourists.
