A cultural event will be held at Gwangmyeong Speedom, bringing together local residents and students from cultural classes.
According to the Korea Racing Authority on October 4, the '2026 Gwangmyeong Speedom Cultural Festival' will take place on the special stage at Pedal Square on the 17th.
This event is designed to showcase performances prepared by students from cultural classes operated by Gwangmyeong Speedom and its nationwide branches, allowing local residents to enjoy the festivities together.
The event will kick off at 2:30 PM with participation programs such as health exercises and karaoke, followed by an opening ceremony at 3 PM and the main event.
One of the highlights will be a singing contest featuring students from cultural classes.
Ten teams that applied from the main venue and branch cultural classes will take the stage to showcase their singing talents.
In addition, various performances will include wellness dance, health exercises, dance sports, as well as ocarina and guitar performances, with a special trot performance by invited singers to enhance the festive atmosphere.
At the end of the event, a raffle will be held for attendees.
This event is expected to provide local residents with a unique leisure opportunity to enjoy performances and cultural programs at the sports facilities they regularly use.
Notably, the participation of cultural class students in preparing and performing on stage signifies a shift from a passive viewing experience to an interactive community program.
An event official stated, "This is an opportunity for cultural class students to share their performances with local residents," adding, "We will continue to offer various programs to ensure Gwangmyeong Speedom serves as a space for residents to engage with culture and sports."
Meanwhile, the Korea Racing Authority plans to continue offering cultural and sports programs for residents at Gwangmyeong Speedom and its nationwide venues, aiming to enhance communication with the local community.
