The Broadcasting Media and Communications Commission (BMCC) has proposed the appointment of two board members for the Korea Broadcasting System (KBS) to the President, as well as two members each for the Broadcasting Culture Promotion Association and the Korea Educational Broadcasting System (EBS).

On October 15, the BMCC held its 42nd plenary meeting, where these matters were reviewed and approved.

The proposed KBS board members are Lee Kang-deok, chairman of the Kwanhun Club and the Jeongsin Young Foundation, and Jang Han-sik, former president of KBS Business.

O Jeong-hwan, former co-representative of the Fair Media Citizens' Coalition, and Jeong Jae-wook, an attorney at Taewon Law Firm, were appointed to the Broadcasting Culture Promotion Association. For EBS, Park Gi-wan, former head of KBS Wonju Broadcasting Station, and Jo Han-je, former standing auditor of BEXCO, were appointed.

These four individuals will begin their terms on October 19.

Additionally, the BMCC urged for prompt recommendations for two members of the KBS Viewer Committee and three members representing KBS employees, as their nominations have been delayed.

During the meeting, the BMCC also reviewed and approved the appointment of an auditor for EBS. Following the revised appointment procedures under the 'Korea Educational Broadcasting System Act,' Kim Jang-hwan, former head of KBS Daegu Broadcasting Station, will be appointed as auditor effective October 19.
