SK Ecoplant has launched a 'One Person, One AI Agent' system that analyzes actual work data using artificial intelligence (AI) to develop and deploy optimized AI agents tailored to specific job roles. The system will initially be applied to key project sites, including semiconductor and AI data centers, with plans to reduce repetitive data collection and report writing tasks.
According to SK Ecoplant, the company analyzed actual work data from its internal systems using AI agents to identify individual work characteristics and bottlenecks, leading to the development of customized AX (AI Transformation) solutions.
The customized AX solutions will first be implemented at major project sites such as semiconductor and AI data centers to reduce the time spent on tasks like periodic data collection and report generation.
SK Ecoplant expects that automating repetitive data collection and simple report writing through AI agents will allow field personnel to focus on core tasks such as quality reviews, construction issue responses, and safety management.
The company has also begun operating a platform called 'AI FAB,' which allows employees to develop their own AI agents, and an 'AI Portal' for distributing these agents across the organization. When ideas for necessary agents arise, they undergo coaching from an internal AI team and a short development process, resulting in implementation within 2 to 3 weeks.
In May, SK Ecoplant unveiled a three-phase system called 'AI Delivery-AI Capa. Belt-AI FAB,' which encompasses the expansion of AI utilization and the stage where employees can create their own agents. At that time, approximately 200 employees completed related training, and plans for the introduction of AI FAB were announced, marking a shift to the execution phase of AI implementation within the company.
SK Ecoplant is also cultivating personnel skilled in AI. This year, through an internal capacity-building program, the company trained 318 domain AI experts focused on operational needs. These experts will develop AI agents tailored to the specific demands of their departments. The developed agents will undergo internal security verification and governance procedures before being registered on the AI Portal for use by all employees.
A representative from SK Ecoplant stated, “We precisely analyzed the field work processes to derive AI utilization strategies that meet actual work needs. We plan to collaborate with domain experts to expand the application of AI agents and support employees in focusing on core tasks.”
