Woori Bank announced on June 10 that it has signed a tripartite memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Mongolia's Trade and Development Bank (TDB) and KT to provide specialized financial and communication services for foreigners.

The agreement aims to offer integrated services to Mongolian workers and students preparing to enter South Korea, covering everything from pre-arrival assistance to settling in after arrival.

The signing ceremony took place at KT's headquarters in Gwanghwamun, attended by Lee Hae-gwang, head of Woori Bank's Personal Group, Orkon Anan, president of Mongolia's TDB, and Kim Bong-kyun, head of KT's Corporate Division, along with key representatives from all three organizations.

Through this partnership, the three companies will implement an organic process that combines their respective infrastructures. When TDB recruits customers in Mongolia, those who agree to use Woori Bank's overseas remittance services and KT's communication network will receive preferential treatment on TDB's loan and deposit products.

After Mongolian customers arrive in South Korea, they will continue to receive benefits that assist with their initial settlement, addressing both financial and communication needs simultaneously.

Woori Bank will facilitate the opening of direct remittance accounts through its specialized foreigner branches and Sunday service locations, offering favorable exchange rates and reduced overseas remittance fees. In conjunction, KT will apply the lowest mobile service rates and link the payment accounts to Woori Bank to maximize the benefits.

Lee stated, "We aim to provide organic financial and communication benefits that genuinely assist the growing number of foreign customers residing in South Korea. After successfully establishing this collaboration model with Mongolia, we plan to expand our partnerships with other countries."

Meanwhile, Woori Bank is actively working to attract foreign customers by expanding its overseas remittance services and supporting multiple languages, including English, Chinese, Japanese, and Vietnamese, through its Woori WON Global platform.
