Lotte is participating in a government-led initiative to cultivate young talent in the retail and hotel service sectors.

On June 18, Lotte announced its involvement in the K-New Deal Academy, a government-sponsored vocational training program for youth, by launching a practical training initiative called "Lift."

"Lift," which stands for "Lift You and Your Tomorrow," aims not only to enhance young people's job skills but also to support career planning and job preparation.

The K-New Deal Academy is a government project where major companies, preferred by youth, design and operate specialized vocational training courses. Launched this year, it aims to train 10,000 participants, with over 70 companies, including the top 10 conglomerates, expressing intentions to offer approximately 12,000 training programs.

With the youth employment rate dropping to 43.5% in the first quarter of this year, the lowest since the COVID-19 pandemic, the initiative seeks to connect practical training in private enterprises to youth employment.

Lotte's Lift program consists of two courses focused on retail and hotel services. Applications will be accepted from June 22 to July 26, and any unemployed youth can apply.

A total of 270 participants will be selected through document screening and interviews. Training will take place from August to November in Seoul and Busan, expanding opportunities for regional youth.

The program will include step-by-step training in job fundamentals, practical skills enhancement, career planning, and job consulting. It will focus on practical education using the business experiences and real-world cases from Lotte's subsidiaries rather than traditional lectures.

The retail course will involve Lotte Department Store, Lotte Mart, Lotte Duty-Free, and Korea Seven, focusing on essential job skills needed in the retail sector, such as product planning, store operations, sales management, and marketing.

The hotel and service course will be managed by Lotte Hotel, Lotte GRS, and Lotte JTB, introducing key roles in the service industry, including hotel operations, food and beverage service, and tourism.

Lotte plans to offer preferential treatment for job applications to its subsidiaries for those who successfully complete the Lift program with outstanding performance.

A Lotte representative stated, "We are participating in the K-New Deal program to help enhance the job skills of youth in our core retail and service sectors. We will spare no effort in providing practical training and job consulting to support their employment and growth."
