Death Toll from Venezuela Earthquake Rises to 589

At least 589 people have died as a result of the powerful earthquake in Venezuela.

According to a report by Yonhap News Agency citing the Associated Press, Delcy Rodriguez, the interim president of Venezuela, announced that the current death toll stands at 589, with 2,980 injured.

This marks a significant increase from the previous day's figures of 188 deaths and 1,520 injuries.

In a press conference, Rodriguez stated, "We will rescue those who are trapped. We are tirelessly committed to this effort."

The earthquake, which struck on June 24 with a magnitude of 7.5, has caused widespread destruction in the Caracas area, leading to building collapses and damage to infrastructure, raising concerns that the death toll may continue to rise.
